Abstract
Although several studies on the morphology of post-cercarial development of Schistosoma japonicum have already been made, very few data are available regarding its physiology and metabolic characterestics during its growth in the final host.Such knowledge will greatly contribute to a better understanding of both chemoprophylaxis and immunology of schistosomiasis. This paper deals with the localization and dynamic changes of histochmistry in schistosomula during the coures of their development.Histochemical observations indicate that the constituents in the developing schistosomula vary greatly at different stages, and the following aspects are worthy to be mentioned.
