树鼩——作为一种新颖的实验疾病动物模型

Tree shrew (Tupaia belangeri) as a novel laboratory disease animal model

  • 摘要: 由于在基因组水平树鼩比啮齿类动物更为接近灵长类动物,这使得树鼩成为一种非常具有前景的实验动物。此外,树鼩还具有体积小,易饲养,繁殖力强等特点,使之成为研究人类疾病的理想材料。近些年,在生物和医学研究中构建了大量的树鼩疾病模型。在此,我们概述了目前构建成功的树鼩疾病模型,主要包括感染模型、肿瘤模型、抑郁症模型、药物成瘾模型、近视模型、代谢疾病模型以及免疫相关疾病模型等。随着转基因树鼩的成功构建,该物种在生物和医药领域将得到更为广泛的应用。

     

    Abstract: The tree shrew (Tupaia belangeri) is a promising laboratory animal that possesses a closer genetic relationship to primates than to rodents. In addition, advantages such as small size, easy breeding, and rapid reproduction make the tree shrew an ideal subject for the study of human disease. Numerous tree shrew disease models have been generated in biological and medical studies in recent years. Here we summarize current tree shrew disease models, including models of infectious diseases, cancers, depressive disorders, drug addiction, myopia, metabolic diseases, and immune-related diseases. With the success of tree shrew transgenic technology, this species will be increasingly used in biological and medical studies in the future.
